Educational Services

In this day and age, students often face a seemingly overwhelming number of challenges, including learning struggles, emotional difficulties, as well as social and cultural differences.  My role is to guide students and their families through this educational and emotional obstacle course.

As a trained clinical psychologist with more than a decade as an educational therapist, I have developed a method that considers the individual as a whole.  Specifically, I assess and evaluate the unique aspects of every young person that I work with, including their age, history, family structure, academic strengths, temperament and presenting concerns.  By doing so, I provide young persons with individualized strategies that address their academic needs, as well as their personality.  Furthermore, by taking into account the emotional aspects of learning, my exclusive Snyder Relational Learning Method also teaches young persons to improve their relationship with their class work, teachers and learning style.

With respect to results, I work with clients to set and meet targets, objectives and goals.  Within 6 months, my methods enable students who were receiving C’s to routinely earn B+’s and A’s.  My methods also enable students to excel on standardized tests, including but not limited to the ISEE, the SAT, the ACT and subject tests.  Additionally, these same methods enable them to succeed in their college years and beyond.

Specialized SAT/ACT Prep

Admittance into colleges and universities continues to become more competitive.  For that reason, there is a profound and ever growing pressure placed on today’s high school students and their families.

As the co-founder of Creative Coping for College Prep Craziness, I have significant experience guiding students and their families through the emotional upheaval of the college admission process.

We offer tutors in all subjects, including math, science and the humanities.  Additionally, all tutors are trained in the Snyder Relational Learning Method.

This method recognizes that we all have “Strengths and Stretches” – areas where we are more likely to excel and areas where we could use a little more help.

For all students who receive specialized services on standardized tests:

Whether the student is provided with extra time to complete the test, a reader to assist with the test and / or a private room to take the test – I have expertise in assisting students to utilize their accommodation.

A young person between the ages of 6 and 18 can spend over one–third of their day in school and school related activities.  For an atypical learner, that can mean over eight hours a day of feeling less than adequate.

Clearly, this can lead to both academic and emotional challenges.
